5 Stars Everyone Else Copies Abraham - Read the Source!
I’ve bought all the latest and greatest “spiritual” books but Abraham-Hicks has been around since the 80s and no one has improved on their work. I constantly hear Abraham’s terminology used by other authors but the Abraham-Hicks books are, to borrow one of their terms, the Source.
It’s easy to get past the fact that Esther is presumably channeling, if you have a problem with that, because the truth of what is being said is so profound and hits you so squarely when you hear it you really don’t care where it’s coming from. I heard them first at a publishing convention where many authors spoke, including Wayne Dyer, and I signed up for Abraham-Hicks only for entertainment, I told my friend. Ten minutes into Abraham’s presentation I was in tears.
I bought the 8 CDs and I listen to them over and over and over. Rich with “heads-on” ideas, I don’t believe anyone need ever be depressed again after reading this work.
There is only one thing I disagree with in all the Hay House books, including this one, which is that we attract everything that happens to us. We have children running out for baseballs who get kidnapped, horribly molested and murdered - and they didn’t attract that. They were unprotected and that may have attracted immature or sociopathic people. But the thoughts of these children didn’t attract what happened to them.
But this does not in any way cloud the fact that you CAN, in fact, attract what happens to you, and that is infinitely more interesting.
Deliberate Intent is an improvement over their prior book, Ask and it is Given, in its detail. I thought I understood the art of allowing until I read Deliberate Intent where the concepts are explained much more thoroughly. I’m recommending it to everyone I know with problems ranging from breaking up with a fiancee to health problems to money dreams.

Abraham Hicks’ message is definitely one that is empowering and uplifting. However, I can’t help but have some doubts about the genuineness of this. I would love to believe Abraham exists, but am I the only one who notices that Esther’s accent changes the longer Abraham speaks through her? At first, when Abraham begins to speak, Esther’s accent is thick and reminiscent of Eastern Europe of Gypsy. She also nearly shouts (in comparison to her usual meek, cheery voice) as though to distinguish a clear difference in voice patterns, making the listener more likely to believe it’s not really Esther speaking. If Abraham is using Esther’s vocabulary then why aren’t they also using her natural accent and volume? Also, after a few minutes into the lecture, Esther’s Abraham accent relaxes to a little closer to her own natural speaking voice. For some reason this glaring inconsistency then makes me aware that the rhythm of her voice sounds as though she is reading from a script and not speaking naturally. I am not a pessimist by nature and, as I’ve said, I would really love to believe Abraham is true, but I cannot help but find these oddities extremely distracting. This is why I’ve only given it 4 stars.
Other than that, I enjoy the message immensely and find myself more joyous after listening to it. Whether or not Abraham is true, these lectures are deliciously entertaining and heart-warming. I do believe in the concept they are teaching (ie: the law of attraction) just maybe not the method they use to teach it.

3 Stars How getting to zero unleashes everything
This book’s focus is love, forgiveness, taking responsibility for your life, and living in the present rather than hanging onto regret and recrimination. Most spiritual approaches share these beliefs and the book presents little that is new, except its aloha twist. Author Joe Vitale brings in the Hawaiian perspective of his co-author, Ihaleakala Hew Len, a Hawaiian therapist and Ph.D., who advocates the “//ho’oponopono//” method. The authors’ emphasis on cleansing and love is a lot like the repentance and love of Christianity, and the emphasis on the universe existing only in your mind has a neo-Buddhist flavor. Skeptics may find that the recommendation to make a batch of special cleansing water pushes their envelope one notch too far. A larger stumbling block is that although many spiritual leaders teach the emptiness of pursuing money and material wealth, this book makes wealth a goal, and suggests that you can receive riches by ridding yourself of blocked memories. To talk of spirituality as the source of record-breaking sales of luxury sedans seems somewhat self-contradictory, but the book is otherwise straight new-age self-help, though// getAbstract// appreciates its Hawaiian flavor.
2 Stars Little substance - lots of pitching other products
After finishing this book I felt that I received little from it . . not enough meaningful content. I did feel however like Joe was pitching many other products in this book that he has a financial interest in. Knowning what I know now I wouldn’t bother reading this book. This bookt didn’t even rate a space on my library shelves.
4 Stars learn the 4 chants in the Zero Limit book
The 4 chants taught in the book are the keys to maintaining a peaceful consciousness that is very difficult to achieve in this world of noise and chaos. Once you get into the habit of chanting the Zero Limit keys, it gets easier to manage your life and takes less and less time to get into zero state which is the God state, or your moving into your center state. Try it. There’s nothing to lose by learning something new.

1 Star An uplifting infomercial
I like parts of this a lot but didn’t rate it well because it has little substance. In the very beginning he admits that this book doesn’t teach Ho’oponopono and tells you if you want to learn Ho’oponopono go to one of the weekend workshops.
Things I like:
* Uplifting, he knows how to motivate his target audience.
* Gives the stories of others who have used this method successfully.
* Although the focus of this book is money it also shows that this technique can be utilized for anything and everything.
Things I didn’t like:
* It felt like work to get to past the infomercials and self aggrandizement. The majority of people on the tape that told their stories were also plugging their products, I wonder if they had to pay for their spot in this book?
* This LONG book only gives you a brief over view of the idea but it’s not even an elementary level primer on Ho’oponopono.
* A HUGE concern is that he admits that this technique made him realize that what he taught in previous books was wrong or obsolete.
He says he felt deep concern and guilt because he has taught the wrong information. This was followed by the explanation that the other books can help people at lower levels of understanding. I totally agree with that but if he ACTUALLY believes this and isn’t simply making excuses to continue selling & teaching incorrect information then why does he constantly plug those books in this one.
If we’re ready for the information that truly works then why try to interest us in information that he acknowledges is WRONG? This is a red flag.
